The LSE Lawyers' Alumni Group comprises alumni of the School who studied law at LSE and/or practise or have an interest in law having studied another subject at LSE. The group provides a forum for discussion at a variety of events throughout the year, offers opportunities for professional networking and encourages active alumni support for the School.
One of the ways the Group hopes to help with this is through the new LinkedIn group. As more and more people are using LinkedIn, we're keen to harness its potential for networking between members outside of the formal events structure. All members are checked against the LSE database by the Alumni Relations team. Join the group .
In addition to providing a means for alumni to maintain contact with the School, the Group also aims to hold a number of events during the academic year. These include guest lectures, social events, and other opportunities for current students, Law Department staff and alumni to meet and interact.
In recent years, the group has worked hard to forge links with the Law Department, and now group members give guest lectures as part of the curriculum.
The annual dinner gives members a chance to get together in a more formal setting, and to meet current students and Law Department staff. After-dinner speakers have included: Lady Justice Smith, Court of Appeal; Peter Sutherland KCMG, Attorney General of the Republic of Ireland; Lord Falconer, the Lord Chancellor; Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, President, Family Division; Lord Goldsmith, the Attorney General; Rt Hon Lord Justice Robin Jacob.
The Group is run by a committee of alumni; membership of the group is free, and all alumni of the School who wish to join are invited to contact Sarah Savage in the Alumni Relations team with relevant details (email, phone number and date of graduation from LSE).
