Geoffrey Baker BSc Econ 1954

Geoffrey Baker, who died on 2nd April, 2011 at Hillingdon Hospital, graduated BSc Econ in 1954 in the Accounting Faculty where he studied under Professor William Baxter.

Geoffrey became a Chartered Accountant in 1957 and then served as a National Service Flying Officer in the Education Branch of the RAF. He resumed an international career in accounting, working in Aden, Liberia, South Africa, New Brunswick and Malawi; he represented Malawi in international Bridge tournaments. Later in his career he lectured in both Ireland and the UK.
