Shaping the future of and serving the LSE Alumni Association

Thank you for remaining connected to the alumni community and to the School during these challenging global times.

Applications are being sought from the LSE alumni network for LSE Alumni Association Executive Committee (EC) volunteer members for the 2020-23 term, commencing in September 2020. These roles provide a volunteering opportunity to help enhance engagement between the School and alumni, between alumni and the School and between alumni.

The LSE Alumni Association

All alumni who have completed a continuous term of study at the School have lifelong membership of the LSE Alumni Association, which serves, represents and supports the School’s global network of 155,000 contactable alumni. It is steered by an Executive Committee (EC), and has at its heart almost 90 Alumni Association-recognised regional groups.

The Executive Committee

The composition of EC volunteers reflects LSE's global community, and alumni volunteer members represent and advocate for all alumni in partnership with LSE, via interaction with the School’s Philanthropy and Global Engagement division (PAGE). The EC is the embodiment of that partnership, given its makeup of 12 volunteer and four staff members.

The EC’s first three-year term under its revised constitution concludes in September 2020, and applications are now being sought for EC alumni volunteer members for the 2020-23 term. These roles provide a volunteering opportunity to help enhance engagement between the School and alumni, between alumni and the School and between alumni. All Alumni Association positions are unpaid volunteering positions.

EC term limits

To ensure a regular refreshing of the EC group there is a 6-year (two 3-year term) post limit. To ensure continuity within the leadership group and subject to the Guiding Principles set out in 6.4.1 of the Byelaws, volunteers who satisfy the Nominations Committee of their continued suitability for the post will be given priority should they apply to serve a second term.

Due to notified retirements and the expiry of term limits the persons currently holding the posts of Chair, one of the Regional Liaison and Group Co-chairs and the Technology Engagement member will not be seeking a second term in 2020-23.

Application Process

Please view the role descriptions below and then complete a separate application form for each category (Leadership, Regional Liaison – Groups Representatives and EC Portfolio Members) to which you wish to apply.
