LSE Alumni Association

Every LSE alumna and alumnus who has completed a full term of study as a registered student is a member of the LSE Alumni Association. The Association represents the interests of all LSE alumni and helps to strengthen relationships between alumni, between alumni and the School and between the School and alumni – by providing advice on alumni engagement programming, and supporting the broader objectives of LSE in engaging its international alumni community in a reciprocal relationship.

The Alumni Association is governed by an Alumni Association Constitution and guided by a set of Byelaws, and steered by an Executive Committee comprised of 12 members.

Executive Committee
volunteer members are all alumni of the School. The composition of EC volunteers reflects LSE's global community, and alumni volunteer members represent and advocate for all alumni in partnership with LSE, via interaction with the School’s Philanthropy and Global Engagement division (PAGE). All Alumni Association positions are unpaid volunteering positions. All EC volunteer members are elected based on their interest, specialism and ability to fulfil specific roles. They are joined by ex-officio members of LSE staff from PAGE division.

The  Executive Committee is set up to:

  • Promote the voice and views of alumni so they are heard by the School
  • Suggest: (i) how alumni can best contribute to the School and the Association, (ii) what the School should do to ensure the best contribution from alumni, and (iii) how best to recognise that alumni contribution
  • Facilitate cooperation between the Association and LSE Advancement to strengthen the School's alumni relations programme, by improving current initiatives and developing new ones
  • Ensure that the Association is appropriately structured and organised, with regard to the needs of both the School and alumni.
