Obituaries

The School is sad to announce the death of Professor Simon Roberts.

Simon first arrived at LSE as an undergraduate in 1959 and, after a short period lecturing in Malawi in the early 1960s before returning in 1964, forged an academic career of great distinction here.
He produced pioneering scholarship in such fields as anthropology of law, family law, property law and alternative dispute resolution processes, and he served the School in many ways, including as Convenor of the Law Department and as Vice-Chair of the School’s Academic Board.
