Are you planning a visit to campus soon? If so, we've planned the perfect afternoon for you on Thursday 27 March. Kickstart your afternoon with a performance by Nijoma Chinyere Grevious (violin) Jo Havlat (piano), described as “superb” by the Chicago Classical Review, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious is a winner of the prestigious 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Afterwards, join us for an exciting guided campus tour - find out more about the School's recent developments and take in breath taking views on one of the many roof terraces.

After the tour, indulge in some well deserved relaxation and conversation with fellow alumni in the cozy ambiance of the Alumni Centre lounge where complimentary afternoon tea awaits. Next, visit the LSE Library for 'Women's history month: open archives + talk' where you can browse through a selection of women's history materials at your own pace, with staff on hand to answer any questions. Whether you're a newcomer to archives or a seasoned researcher, these laid-back events offer a great opportunity to explore our collections in an informal setting.

Conclude your day on campus with a classic LSE lecture hosted by the Department of International Development on 'From menarche to menopause: how reproductive histories shape women's health'.

Lunchtime Concert: Rosamunde Trio

The international musicians of the Rosamunde Trio - Martino Tirimo (piano), Ben Sayevich (violin) and Daniel Veiss (cello) have been performing together since 2002 and have since then covered a large part of the piano trio repertoire including all the trios of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Shostakovich.

LSE Library: Exposure and contrast: the Exit photography group

LSE Library's Autumn/Winter exhibition derives from a collection of photographs and interviews held in the archives. The group responsible for this collection were called Exit and they came together in the 1970s to bear witness to the changes and challenges impacting Britain's inner cities.

Their efforts were published in 1982 as the book Survival Programmes and revealed a country wracked by inequalities and creaking social support services. The interviews and photographs were taken in the mid-late 1970s, illustrating a country in flux where opportunities were hard to come by for many.

Please just drop in and stay as long as you like.

LSE Lecture: Reversed realities revisited: 30 years of thinking in gender and development

30 years ago, Naila Kabeer published Reversed Realities: Gender Hierarchies in Development Thought, which became a landmark study in the scholarship on gender and development. It is widely regarded as a (if not the) key text in the field of Feminist Development Studies. It provided path-breaking perspectives on the politics of development knowledge production, specifically about how excluding feminist knowledge shaped development practice and unequal outcomes.

This public event is free and open to all. This event will be a hybrid event, with an in-person audience and an online audience. For the in-person event: No ticket or pre-registration is required. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
